Adaptation for the Climate and Nature Emergency

When recognising the Climate and Nature Emergency, Stirling Council committed to engage and work with communities to tackle the enormous challenges the Emergency presents for the area. Taking urgent action to reduce carbon emissions, reduce resource use, conserve and enhance nature, and prepare for the expected changes to our climate are seen as key priorities.​ 

A Climate and Nature Emergency Plan has been adopted to help prioritise and direct activity across these key areas. Delivering the Plan will require action by everyone - the Council, wider public sector, businesses and residents. The actions outlined are anticipated to preserve the beauty of the area, improve lives, reduce costs, and create jobs for the future, transforming the Stirling area into a place fit for the 21st Century.​

The Council invited local people to comment on the draft Climate and Nature Emergency Plan by answering quick questions on the draft Plan in a short poll and providing more detailed comments on sections of the report. Registered users of the platform could choose to respond to one or both of the above and provide comments on any of the sections of the Plan.

Now the consultation has closed, you can find the results of the quick poll, a report on all comments received on the draft Plan (alongside the Council's response), a copy of the final adopted Plan and its Strategic Environmental Assessment, and the results of the 2020 resident's survey under the relevant project tile.
