Do you think Raploch Road could be successfully transformed into a ‘Cycle Street’ with traffic calming measures?

Cycling west along Drip Road at the northern junction with Raploch Road, there needs to be a dropped kerb to enable cyclists to join the off-road cycle path and shared use path. Also by this junction is the link to the Riverside Path (not Walk) which should be renamed as a Path. It should be accessible for all users and abilities - cycles, wheelchairs not just walkers.

@Bridget Clark • A dropped kerb will be introduced to ensure the off road path can be accessed.

At the northern end of Raploch Road, cyclists wanting to make a right turn onto Drip Road would need to cross without protection at a bend in the road where traffic might come from 3 directions. At the very least, an island should be provided in the middle of the road to enable cyclists to cross one lane at a time, especially children.
I would personally prefer to see the northernmost bus stops on Raploch Road removed, as this could present a hazard for cyclists overtaking or force them to sit in the emissions of the buses while waiting. There are already two bus stops further south for both directions while cyclists are separated from those carriageways.

@James F We have reduced the road width here from 8 metres to 6.5 metres and have provided a raised table in advance of the junction to facilitate crossing. We are restricted with space at this location and would not be able to include a traffic island. We will not be removing bus stops as we want ample accessibility to bus stops, promoting sustainable transport.
