In Cultenhove , we are seeing over the last two years a deterioration in the natural environment. There was a move at the beginning of Covid to remove shrubs and introduce wild flower plantings which have never been looked after and simply left alone.

This year we have had the loss of beautiful cherry trees in Coxithill Rd that have been growing for here for fifty years and suddenly removed without any discussion. Over the road from me three rowan trees removed and no attempt to treat the disease affecting them.

Cultenhove Opportunities built a herb garden near us and it is not looked after properly as there is no input now from community services to bring the community together.

For me , the beauty of these beds , the shrubs flowers and trees, is what compensates for the for the monotonous housing and the lack of variety in style of housing and local activities. Look at the Kings Park area and the sheer variety of plantings there. We need that here too
