I support this site becoming an LNCS. The Scottish Biodiversity List (SBL) habitat Open Mosaic Habitat on Previously Developed Land (OMHoPDL) occurs here and high invertebrate diversity is supported by the habitat mosaic, which includes bare and sparsely vegetated ground, scrub, young woodland and wetland features. Specialists including the jumping spider Talavera aequipes which is very local in distribution with very few records in Scotland. SBL species recorded including bullfinch, song thrush, reed bunting and small heath (see Identifying the report Open Mosaic Habitat on vacant and derelict land in the Inner Forth Area (2013) https://www.buglife.org.uk/resources/publications-hub/campaigns-and-reports/).

There are a lot of interesting plants and the site was used for bird ringing however it is covered in hundreds perhaps thousands of dangerous Giant Hogweed Plants and access across the railway line is prohibited?

I support this becoming an LNCS. It is a concern there is so much Giant Hogweed there.
