Naturalised areas

Go to the project
There is huge potential in the Buchlyvie area for developing and increasing areas of wildflowers.
1. Roadside verges and lay-bys, eg near ‘Flander’s Rest’.
2. Around the football pitch
3. Along the old railway track from Buchlyvie to Aberfoyle. A seven mile track, used daily by walkers, runners and cyclists. The track crosses Flanders Moss bog and the verges provide a perfect opportunity to create a wildflower pollinators’ corridor linking bog, woodlands and fields.
4. Buchlyvie Wildlife Garden planted by the primary school and community in 2007, includes a wildflower meadow, native woodland with bluebells, orchard, pond and medicinal herb garden, all good for pollinators.
5. Burn Green and adjacent woodland, by Buchlyvie Main Street opposite the pub. Buchlyvie Wildlife Group have started working on Burn Green to create another wildflower meadow and native hedgerow. We would welcome support from the Council to make this project a success.
