Rewilding the areas and growing food for the community

My first comment is to do with pollinators. It's well-documented that pesticides and herbicides are killing bees and other pollinators. It seems only obvious that there should be a reduction if not elimination of their use in the area. Otherwise you're completely defeating the purpose of trying to boost pollination.
Wild flowers absolutely should be planted along verges and in set areas to increase diversity of pollinators.
Any disused land should be offered to the community for food growing purposes. Incredible edible was operating in Balfron for a while and in Drymen. There's a renewed interest since lockdown for people wanting to grow their own food. A community setting is the best place to do that. I have a group called Food Growers G63 and I'd be delighted to help orchestrate community growing and there's also GrowG63 that has community gardens in Killearn and Drymen. A focus on this initative would be welcomed - particularly in light of the climate change on the cards.
I for one have considered guerilla gardening in local areas to grow flowers and food for the community.
Restricting grass cutting to once per year and leaving to compost on the ground is a sound move but I'd like to see different ground cover like comfrey, wild strawberries etc. replacing massive patches of grass to increase diversity.
