Alison Brown1 year ago I get a lot of abuse when I cycle, as a woman on my own.The amount of abuse on the Dunblane local fb page about these proposals makes me very scared. We get enough abuse because of the ridiculous lanes you built in Stirling which dont really help anyone and have caused massive more hate for cyclists. I am going to get more and more abuse if I continue to cycle around Dunblane if these proposals go ahead.In my ideal world the proposal is good. But the population is largely irrationally anti cyclist and anti women. So please do not do this as planned. I would be happy with improvements to the surface of the existing footway from Dunblane to Keir rbt then BoA and to make it officially shared use. Just need to improve the roundabouts and getting on and off the shared path. No amount of wide shared path is any use to anyone without getting on and off it safely. We still have that dangerous kerb going S out of dunblane just before M and S. And getting across the road just south of Keir is dodgy, that would require slight extension of the shared path southwards. Or even better take away the verge and extend the path southwards to connect with cycle lane in BoA. Then you need a way to get through BoA. The bridge /mini rbt is horrendous for cyclists going north especially, now the silly bits of footway sticking out into the road have been RE instated. Going N from Cornton Rd to Allan water bridge is also dodgy, especially where there are parked cars to only one lane and traffic coming head on on wrong side.I just spend some time in Moray where all the towns have nice normal width shared use paths that connect the towns and are separated from the roads, and I had nothing but smiles and waves from the pedestrians, and then respect from drivers when I went onto minor roads. Go and visit and speak to their planners, and see how they managed to not stoke up the anti cyclist war.I am in Stirling and Dunblane bike clubs and am a cycle trainer and coach, if you want more of our views get in touch.

Alison Brown5 years ago This version is still underwhelming if one actually visualises the changes. Children to have access to outdoor learning by 2045? Don't think it needs 23 years to organise. Could be done by 2022.THREE new active travel routes? Really? And I suspect they will be in most deprived areas where car use is lowest anyway. I still can't let my child walk to school due to lack of safe route (no pavement, busy road, poor sightlines) and I still can't cycle to work (high speed road, pavement in poor condition not designed as shared). And we are in a town of over 9,000 (yes Dunblane).

Alison Brown5 years ago I don't understand some of the targets, they read as if they have been picked out of the air rather than worked out on an objective basis. Or am I reading this all wrong? For example, to have all children engaging with nature as part of education could be done this year. Does it really say 2045?? Also 'three' new active travel routes? In the whole area? When active travel is a top priority not only for net zero reasons but also as an immediate way to engage people with nature? Why three? Why not 33 or 333?
