School grounds

M_ _R•4 years ago School grounds account for a significant proportion of the land that Stirling Council owns.Much of it is maintained as 'grass desert'. This includes routine mowing and use of chemical weed suppressant. To use these spaces as a richer learning and play environment, more bio-diverse and climate change ready could be a real 'win'. This is not a proposal for all of the space or spaces, but on a case by case basis.Stirling has LtL based here - experts in this and leading a national project around school grounds.https://www.ltl.org.uk/projects/climate-ready-school-grounds/

Inclusion of Auchinlay/Grant drive woods

M_ _R•4 years ago This area of woodland is between Auchinlay Road and Grant Drive in Dunblane.Currently un-managed early woodland planted by housing developer. Much used for dog walking. Becoming a broadleaved woodland - but perhaps needs a little intervention to help it along. Certainly needs protection for the future.
