Albert Place and Dumbarton Road East

Background

The Forth Valley College Route proposal promotes reduction in vehicle speeds by changing the nature of Albert Place and altering the junctions at Upper Craigs/Dumbarton Road East and Dumbarton Road/Albert Place. These streetscape alterations will promote use of the signed inner ring road via Queens Road and Snowdon Place for through traffic travelling west to and from the city centre. The proposal also seeks to reduce road speeds by narrowing the road cross section enhancing the residential nature of the streets. This visual change and constraint on the driver will lead to the drivers reducing speed, promoting a safer environment for non-road users.
