Bridge of Allan
The first “Bridge” of Allan is believed to have been constructed around 1520 over an existing ford. Mines also opened above the village in the 16th Century producing copper, silver and occasionally gold but it was only after Bridge of Allan was transformed into a spa town in later centuries that common good assets such as the Pullar Park and the Paterson clock were gifted to the town.
