Cowane Street and Goosecroft Road

We have such a great amount of road space along Cowane Street that makes adding in a segregated cycleway less challenging. We are proposing to situate the segregated cycleway adjacent to the footpath on the North side of Cowane Street, and will connect from the train station onwards to Lower Bridge Street.

Other opportunities exist within the carriageway for retrofitting rain gardens. This will help assist with existing surface water issues along Cowane Street. Tree planting in this location will also be possible while maintaining parking spaces. This will also add an additional barrier between the cycleway and the carriageway.
