Educational Placing Request Policy Consultation

We are consulting to seek your views on the proposed amendments to our current Placing Request Policy.

What happens next?

When the survey closes, we will gather this feedback alongside any views shared with us at the Public Consultation Meeting.

This meeting will take place on 10 November 2021. You can find full details via the events section of the project.

When the survey is closed and the consultation meeting has taken place, we will prepare a report for Education Scotland to review. Education Scotland will then respond to us and from this, a final paper will be prepared. This paper will be submitted to the relevant Committee or full Council meeting and will detail the outcomes of this consultation process and recommendations made. 

Introduction to the survey

As a parent or carer, you have the right to ask for your child to attend a school that is not the catchment school for your address.

This consultation is asking for your views about amendments we have suggested to our current Placing Request Policy. The proposed amendments can be found in the Proposal document attached below.
