Housing Tenant Rent Consultation 2023/24

This consultation is open to Stirling Council tenants only.

Agreeing rent levels is one of the most important decisions the Council makes each year, as it has an impact on all tenants. This is why it is vital you have the opportunity to get involved and have your say on the options available.

We estimate the cost of running the Housing service will rise by £656,000 in 2023/24. If Stirling Council had to freeze rents the only way to do this would be to restrict all recruitment of housing staff and this would make our service delivery poorer - that could mean that urgent repairs take much longer to carry out or we have shortages in key posts.

We are proposing three options to tenants for consideration and we would like you to choose you preferred option:

  1. 2.9% - an increase of £2.26 per week
  2. 3.1% - an increase of £2.43 per week
  3. 3.3% - an increase of £2.56 per week

For more information on each option please read the rent consultation article in the Open Door newsletter in this project below.
