Lower Bridge Street

Background

Lower Bridge Street, Back O' Hill Road and Drip Road all dissect a large area of fragmented green space. Traffic is both a physical and psychological barrier, with a lack of sufficient crossings to enable higher levels of usage. Sufficient existing space is available to create a new functional greenspace that will provide opportunities for play, biodiversity and views towards heritage assets, such as the Wallace Monument. Desire lines across this space will be formalised and re-surfaced to enhance accessibility.

The segregated bi-directional cycleway will continue from Cowane Street to Drip Road and will offer connections to Raploch and onwards to Old Stirling Bridge, where the journey continues to Causewayhead Road.
