Mobile Libraries Consultation
Our Mobile Libraries visit rural and urban areas on a weekly and fortnightly basis.
Everyone is welcome to visit and we offer a range of services:
- Books for adults & children
- Books on CD for adults & children
- Large print books
- Request service
- Free period products
- Hearing aid batteries
Staff are also happy to accept food bank donations.
We are proposing to refresh our timetables so we can offer the best possible service from our mobiles and work more effectively with partners in rural and urban areas.
· We will spend longer in our communities, by reducing the number of stops the mobile libraries make in some areas but increasing the length of each stop.
· We will run school and community stops from separate vans. This will reduce the length of public timetables and make them easier to understand.
· Using the public WiFi on our vans, we hope to extend digital inclusion through offering general digital access and learning opportunities where connectivity permits.
· Longer stops and wifi mean we can allow colleagues and partners to join us, engage with local communities and promote access to services online.
Please complete the survey below on the changes proposed. Your views are important in shaping the service to make it more effective and accessible to our users.
