Polling districts and places review
Every local authority is required to carry out a review of polling districts and polling places every five years. This is to ensure it provides reasonable facilities for voting and that polling places are accessible to all electors, including voters with a disability.
The next compulsory review of polling districts and polling places in the Stirling County Constituency is scheduled to commence in October/November 2023. Stirling Council is carrying out a preliminary review of the current polling districts and polling places ahead of the statutory review to give a longer period for consultation with stakeholders. The purpose of the review is to hear your feedback about the current arrangements and identify potential alternatives where required.
A polling district is the area created by the division of a Ward into smaller parts, so that electors can be allocated to a polling place where they can vote. The polling place is the building within which voting is carried out. Depending on the number of electors, there may be several rooms used for voting, each one is called a polling station.
Comments and suggestions are invited on any aspect of the current polling districts and polling places. We value your opinions on whether the polling places we currently provide are suitable venues, or whether there are any better alternatives that we should consider.
Please take a few minutes to complete the survey below. Alternatively, you can submit comments by e-mail to elections@stirling.gov.uk or by post to the Election Office, Stirling Council, Room 56, Old Viewforth, Stirling, FK8 2ET
