Stirling
Created in the 12th Century, The Royal Burgh of Stirling is one of the oldest burghs in Scotland. Along with Perth and Edinburgh, Stirling became one of the three major strongholds in Scotland and by the 15th and 16th century, Stirling had become the favoured seat of the Stuart Kings. This rich history is reflected in the city today with the remnants of the Old Town wall representing the best preserved town fortifications in Scotland.
